You guys need to look again, if you look close, you will see that there is nothing tied to GPIO2, the resistor on the left is in fact tied to GPIO15.

You are looking at the silk screen labels wrong. The labels are aligned with the 2.54mm spacing header pins on the outside, not the 2.0mm solder pads on the inside. The pulldown is connected to the second to bottom pin, gpio15, as it should be.

I have a similar board and I think the confusion is arising out of the labeling on the board:
The labels are for the holes on the right.
The board actually connects pin 15 to GND via a 10k resistor, and not pin 2
