You will need the new ESP-07 with 16 pins - it has a pin marked ADC.

I will try it out later today and post results back here.

I do have 3 of them. Two with the cermic antenan and a board antenna. All of them have the extra adc pin and gpio 5 and 4

I just tried the ADC pin that's broken out on my olimex dev board - it works fine - reading upto 1024 (10 bits) for 1volt.

Using a cheapy multimeter I verified that when I adjusted a potentiometer to give as close to 0.5v as I could manage - I got a reading of 516 from the ADC. So hardly a metrology assessment but for a battery level or other non-critical measurement functions it will do nicely.

Is this ADC on esp-07 or esp-12 still bothered by wifi transmitting/receiving or can it be used for continuous measurements ?
