Description
A full rowing computer on a single chip – this provides statistics similar to top-end rowing machines which cost upwards of £800 each (using any air rower which can be as little as £100).
This was designed to use as few parts as possible and to encode as much as possible in the software of the chip, for a relay-type rowing machine, no extra parts are needed, just a 3.5mm jack - or wires direct to an esp8266 chip.

Rowing sessions are uploaded live to the cloud and you can use your own phone as a display.
Many different rowing machine types are supported, and others can be added as it is Open Source.
This goes further than all other current rowing machines as this is internet connected and so live races can be done over the internet, sessions saved and a person’s profile stays with them not the machine.

Simple wifi setup at site using a hosted page for configuration.

Parts
Rowing Machine,
Esp8266,
Breadboard,
Wires,
3.5mm socket,
(required if connecting to Concept 2) – OpAmp chip.
(required if air rower does not have rpm of flywheel) - magnet(attach to flywheel), relay - to indicate rotations.

I like the idea of racing someone over the internet using these devices.
