Also, to make your life easier to begin with: make sure you have a stable flashing environment.
Later on, when you're used to the board, you can try other (or less stable) ways of flashing your ESP.
For the ESP-01,take one of these; they're only a couple of bucks and will make life much easier:
Note: I suggest you get the one like above, since it has a programming switch.
The cheaper ones (that costs around 1 dollar) doesn't, so you have to add it yourself.
