#58714 Well boys and girls, I've tried to access my ESP8266 via a USB to UART cp2102 using an external power supply to power the chip.

All I'm getting whenever I connect is nothing, zero, zip. When I issue a "break" command, I see the tx light on the urt flicker, but the ESP blue light does nothing at this stage.

On the Uart I have a status LED that glows red to indicate connection
On the ESP I have a red led to indicate power, and when booting a second led flashes blue briefly.

At the terminal screen I get nothing at all. 9600 8-N-1 up through to 115200 8-N-1

Have you any suggestions?

#58778 OP nailed it exactly for me as well. I'm on MacOS 10.10... Cannot communicate via serial with any baud via FT232RL @ 3.3 with seperate lm1117 for ESP.
