#58753 Hello guys. This is my first post here. Kind of a noob in the IoT world.

About a month ago, I got these wifi relays from ebay. They are supposed to be plug and play with a basic web server and on/off switch, but I have been trying to make them work since then without any luck.

Although I am not sure at all, I have come to the conclusion that the guy that sold them, has made some mistake with the firmware he has put on. I arrived to this conclusion, since I am able to see and connect to the SSID, but nothing more can be done from there on. No http server and with some android apps I tried, most I could get was to see an activity (from the onboard led) but then the device would reboot.
I have also tried to connect through serial port (there are 3 pins on board: TX-RX-GND) - no luck there either.

Can anybody from you understand what could be the case here and maybe give some pointers/directions? I can only provide a picture of the board, since no manual or anything else is available for this device.

Thanks in advance
Panagiotis

#58936 Hi panagiotis!

Your module looks like a Sonoff relay https://www.itead.cc/sonoff-th.html
But the most known and cheap is this one: https://www.itead.cc/sonoff-wifi-wireless-switch.html

On the last one, i can upload new fimware with USB to TTL cable, like you can see in this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_389pQPLyr8
As you told it in your post, there is GND/RX/TX Pins but you need a VCC pin too upload firmware. Under the board, don't you have information about a VCC pin?
