#63631 I posted this once, but does not look like it posted..

I am new with the ESP8266 and I have the ESP8266 HUZZAH breakout board.

I read the Vbat is for 3.3v power supply but the V+ will take 4 to 6 volts with no issues.

I want to verify this. I want to interface the ESP8266 with a MAX232 with an old 8 bit computer on the serial port to act as a modem over WIFI. I have seen it done on an old TI-99/4A system.

I am t hinking that I can use the V+ and Ground and just use a 5v DC power supply as the V+ does pass 3.3 volts to the 3v pin that will go to the MAX232 and this will power the module.

I wanted to make sure I can do this before I hook it up to ensure I do not screw it up.

Advice ?
