#64640 Yep....that worked. Apparently the device doesn't actually supply 3.3V across those pins until...something. I don't know what. When I plug the remote control into that slot, it works fine. When I plug in the "spltter" (i.e., plug-to-screw-connector widget), I get only a couple of millivolts between the GND and V+ pins. So...I'll power the nodeMCU from a different source. Thanks for the tip! I was so sure that the device supplied 3.3V that when I tried connecting it to the 3.3V pin on the nodeMCU and got nothing, I figured, "Well, that can't work..." Then I tried again, drawing power from the 3.3V pin of another nodeMCU, and it worked fine. Live and learn!
