All the same board - ESP8266-12E, this is the description of the product as purchased. I mislabled the topic when I named it. It never loaded correctly, and still does not load.

Please note: the ESP8266 is a chip, an ESP-12E is a module containing the ESP8266 chip (which you can't see because of metal shielding).

Most people, however, think they've got an ESP-12, because that's the only identification they see, while in fact they're actually using a development board, like the NodeMCU or WeMOS.

This is a breakdown of an ESP-12 on a NodeMCU to give you an idea what I mean:

I have the exact unit pictured in your response, the ESP-12 on a NodeMCU, when i bougtht it, it was labeled ESP8266-12E. I'm not sure what more I can say at this point.

There was an information bulletin that appeared when I attempted to upload: "ESPino (ESP-12 module) 80 mHz, OK, 4M (1M SPIFFS), V2, Lower Memory Disabled, None, only Sketch, 115200 on com3."

This seems like a big clue. Can we address that please?
