He has actually been pretty helpful with other topics. Perhaps I caught him at a bad moment. Nonetheless, these boards are particularly helpful to noobs like me who do this stuff just for fun and learning.

Accepted. Actually, your tip really was helpful. As soon as I saw my mistake the sketch worked as desired. Even for a noob, I still can't believe I overlooked that. I guess it was a "see the forest for the trees" moment.
