Posted: Fri Jul 20, 2018 7:14 amI have programmed 4M parts with a setting of 512K without problem. While not a good setting if you need more space but it is a safe lowest common denominator when you are not sure of what you have.

Posted: Fri Jul 20, 2018 7:46 amthe problematic setting wouldn't be the low size BUT the QIO. There are ESP-12 with flash that accepts DIO only, especially on NodeMCUs. One wouldn't get an error during flashing, it just won't start ...
