#83141 Ive been able to wire it as a switch and send email msg via ifttt.
what i want now is to create a soft latching circuit, where a momentary pushbutton (my case a reed switch)
turns the circuit on powering the esp-01. I was successful in this, however thats all it did, was turn on.
Never connected to wifi never powered it's self down via the gpio pin i assigned as an output, to go high, then after ifttt msg to go low powering off the circuit. btw this is all on a breadboard using 3v3.
I want to run it off a lipo, which ive been successful doing without the latching circuit.

Question: on the esp-01, Is the GPIO2 pin able to be used as an output, to set it as high,, then later set it low?
the circuit im using is from this guy: https://randomnerdtutorials.com/latchin ... 6-arduino/
schematic is there. Ive used the same mosfet, and npn.
Ive also used a mosfet and npn that work at lower voltage lower vgs
my assumption is there isn't enough current to drive the esp to connect to wifi. can't confirm that bc my multimeter is a pos.
