Posted: Wed Sep 23, 2020 7:53 amI believe that is correct, and to further illistrate the point, when I click the "more info" button on the notification, it leads me to a Microsoft page that (in part) states;
"You might see a notification that tells you that you’re connected to a Wi-Fi network that’s not secure because it uses an older security standard. For example, this can occur if you connect to a Wi-Fi network that uses WEP or TKIP for security. These security standards are older and have known flaws."
I've read in a related post that the ESP8266 uses TKIP encription. This seems to be the problem as far as using AP mode.
I think the server issue (seen by the browser) can be corrected by proper methods as offered above. However i'm still not sure what to do about the encription. When using the ESP in station mode, (logging into an access point such as a router) things are different. So I guess the question is; Is there a way to update the ESP's encription method?
I should also mention (again) that when accessing this set up via Android, it DOES log on without issue, and the browser reports the PAGE as insecure, and 2 if accessed attempt is made via Ubuntu it simply denies connection.
