I'm using NodeMCU 0.9 (ESP 12 dev-kit) and I have the same problem when using RemoteDebug library and Espressif 8266 version of 3.2.0 on platformIO. I also added the PubSubClient library to my project after reading this page but it didn't fix the problem. I had previously solved the problem by changing the version of the Espressif 8266 platform to 2.5.2. I prefer to use the latest version of the esp platform so if there's any further help or suggestion, I'd really appreciate it.
