I’m trying to work out the overhead I have when drawing amps on the AOZ1282CI DC converter.
I see it’s taking the 24V/12V and supplying the board with 5V, but having trouble working out what onboard parts are using the 5V and taking up some of the 1.2A continuous output currents, as I plan to power some neo pixels from the 5v header, but don’t want to exceed the output current of the AOZ1282CI.

ummm... if you have no circuit diagram of the board, I think you can perform a test with a multimeter. That will give you an idea which part is consuming how much current while on power. I may sound dumb but actually, this type of project often has to be started on a trial and error basis. If you start with one neopixel ring, and see the result, I think that will give you a lead for the rest of your work.
