Good observation. I will look for that.

I would have thought the resistor would solve it, though.

Maybe it is a firmware bug after all. Something not initialized early in the boot sequence.

Edit: it have same issue with or without pullup resistor on gpio0

Been away. Need to do some experiments.

Since it can run for 2 days before missing, it will be hard to be confident of any fix that is not fully explained.

I still suspect low level firmware in the boot sequence.
