#80241 So I've only gotten into ESP8266s not too long ago. I was introduced to them by somebody who knew PCB and hardware design, but programming wasn't his strong suite. He was using NodeMCU, so obviously I took over. However, I've been tinkering and Googling a lot in the last couple of months, and it seems very common to have an ESP running custom C code directly. This makes me wonder about the differences between these two approaches. Obviously each has their pro's and con's, otherwise they wouldn't exist side by side. Could somebody enlighten me on the differences between running NodeMCU and plain C?
