I see online the many options to power the nodemcu, but I wondered if I used 12vdc < 800ma connected to VIN and G, will I still be able to render 5v @ VU ? I have a 5v relay connected there.
Thanks

Hi ob2s
Did you find it out? I am thinking on different ways to power my NodeMCU V3 from a MEGA 2560 and connect them via I2C but I am still not sure about how to control 5V and 3V sensors and if the NodeMCU can be powered with 12V <800mA and provide 5V at VU, I might replan my project.
I think I read somewhere that VU provides 5V from the USB, but I have never check it by myself

I ended up using a cheap buck converter (dc2dc) to connected the 12v adapter.
