Yup, (a€ÉYâK€LЉbúâgF�è¨lä¨Hø is 74880 baud startup messages from the boot ROM. I do not think anyone has found a way of turning them off; not that you would want to. They are useful!

Thanks guys. The issue i'm having is the device the ESP is connected to doesn't like the message and spazzes out. I'll have to work on fixing the other device if the ESP boot loader can't be modified to stop the message.
