#19945 OK I would suspect wiring initially as this chip has big bursts of power frequently and it seems to burn wires easily . Use solid if you can on the TX and RX wires and make sure they are crossed .TX to RX -RX to TX and you have the baud rate set right.

Yep there are transmission pulses of 450mA each 100 nanoseconds or so I am told . Too quick to get on a multi but my orrible ong kong breadboard connectors seem to just give up on this chip and I have gone to all solid wires.
