Yeah. I figured it out eventually. But the fact that both windows are of the same format was not helpful.

Check the black screen on the bottom of the Arduino IDE. It will the show the error. In my case, I copy-pasted the link two times, so screen was showing some error like Downloading from link....; So anyone facing this issue, recheck your url in preferences -> Additional Boards Manager URLs.

Can you paste the exact contents from your 'Additional board URLs' here? (file->preferences->additional board urls)

Hi Team,
Having an issue with the Community ESP8266 board package. It was working in the morning 4 am AWST then in the evening I could not upload a sketch to my Node MCU V3 as it showed that the port was not available.
I reinstalled the driver CH 341, then tried to get it working by un-installing my board package.
Now it is unable to to install any version of the package and is throwing this error.

Failed to install platform: esp8266:esp8266.
Error: 2 UNKNOWN: Get "https://objects.githubusercontent.com/github-production-release-asset-2e65be/32969220/1b286839-3f2e-4e52-8b93-6c6dc2b0ea1b?X-Amz-Algorithm=AWS4-HMAC-SHA256&X-Amz-Credential=AKIAIWNJYAX4CSVEH53A%2F20230605%2Fus-east-1%2Fs3%2Faws4_request&X-Amz-Date=20230605T101412Z&X-Amz-Expires=300&X-Amz-Signature=97346cd81d9af9313a01f0ecc954290b9dbae468c8f93828bf1a1c0517a43410&X-Amz-SignedHeaders=host&actor_id=0&key_id=0&repo_id=32969220&response-content-disposition=attachment%3B%20filename%3Desp8266-3.1.2.zip&response-content-type=application%2Foctet-stream": tls: failed to verify certificate: x509: certificate signed by unknown authority

Any help please?
