#93639 Hello. I've been using 2.7.4 forever but decided to try 3.0.2 today with my ESP8266 Adafruit HUZZAH with macOS 12.1 and IDE 1.8.16.

Sorry to say it does not even connect using either my old code that worked fine or the example File->ESP8266WebServer->HelloServer which just prints dots forever. Yes, I made sure my SSID/pw are correct in the sketch.

No worries, just an FYI, back to 2.7.4, will try again another day. Cheers!

#93640 Me again; I can't seem to go back to 2.7.4 afterall.

When I go into Boards manager, esp8266 says 3.0.2 is installed but the "Select version" menu does not list 2.7.4, it goes from 2.7.3 to 3.0.0. If I try to install 2.7.3 it throws "java.lang.NullPointerexception:, same with Remove.

Ideas welcome.

#93651 Yes indeed, a complete wipe and reinstall gets me going again, thanks. Everything is repeatable: 2.7.4 works fine, 3.0.2 still does not connect, and the IDE won't go back from 3.0.2 to 2.7.4. Oh well!

Take care everybody.
