Yes, your ESP core files are outdated, those functions have been added by myself back on Jan 17th :

How does the MQTT implementation work? can you select presets and/or control individual pixels?
With regards to the presets how do you create a preset?

I am starting to get to grip with it and think its great. I have still to try the MQTT and matrix features but thank you for sharing it.
