Arduino Jumper Wires from China ?
Never trust them ! They scrimp the pins on wire without skinning them...

YUP that is because they are Insulation Displacement Connectors (IDC)!

If you remove the insulation the connectors are prone to falling off.

Remember even a good production facility will get some failures.
