Wanted to sincerely thank everyone for the responses I've gotten to this question. I've been slow to respond because I've been mucking my way through learning how to actually code. At the moment, I've got a webpage to change the data file via internet input ( it's at espie.netau.net for anyone wondering), and have gotten the esp to pull the 1/0 from the webpage, now I just have to figure out how to turn that into controlling a pin, so I've been learning C++ from scratch.
Thanks in particular to Villtech for a response WAY above and beyond the call of duty of an internet forum. It has helped a great deal.
I'll continue to update with any progress that comes from this.
