I don't know why it would be failing. With smtp to go there is a daily limit on the number of msgs unless you pay.

Its not the smtp limit.
What exactly prompts "connection failed"? Any ideas how i could figure out whats going wrong?

Did you get this going? I just tries and the terminal window (USB) says this:
504 5.7.4 Unrecognized authentication type
221 2.0.0 Service closing transmission channel
disconnected
I have tried logging in on a regular PC and login and password is fine........
