ESP8266 Community Forum

Hello
Been playing with this project for several days now. ESPbasic is absolutely awsome. I can get it to work perfectly when interfacing with the PC via "station mode", but when accessing via smartphone from outside the LAN, the set temp will not invoke. I almost feels like "one way communication". I have port forwarding set up for TCP. The GUI shows up fine, but no change to the set point occurs. What the heck am i missing?

I have found that everything works if I put the IP in the DMZ zone in the router. Is this normal to have to do that?
