ESP8266 Community Forum

I like the Basic Interpreter, at least what's described in the documentation. Unfortunately, the flasher only works with Windows. I tried compiling from source, but keep getting a variety of errors, mostly having to do with missing library modules, but some syntax errors. It would be helpful to have a pre-compiled binary version without the flasher. I can use "esptool.py" to download NodeMCU and I assume I could do the same with a binary version of the Basic Interpreter.
