Can someone who knows exactly what these current spikes look like write it up on the Esspressif company forum and get a response from them? If we explain to them exactly what is happening, maybe they can fix it. Best would be a picture of the current draw -- like get the boot current draw on a scope and then make a picture of it.

I can tell them but I am SW guy, better if hardware guy clearly describes problem to them.

And another launch today....

http://techcrunch.com/2014/05/27/bttn/

Check out the price... I almost fell out of my chair....

bttn, which is launching today on pre-order (for €69), is a physical, Internet-connected button (aka the bttn) that can be pressed in order to trigger a particular action.

For businesses: bttn-as-a-service 7.90€/month

This is insane -- it is cellular based.

When not connected to an AP, it is sending 80211 probes (80211 FRAME SUBYTPE 0X04)

I have been doing lots of testing to see what the basic behaviour is....

Have a look here http://bbs.espressif.com/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=315 --- I am still trying to get to the bottom of all the activity that goes on in the background.
