Right now, I'm using GPIO0 when I'm flashing/uploading sketches, I write it to GND, rest of the time it's not plugged. As for RST, should I have that connected as well?

Thank you and have a great day!

Using power from a serial-usb converter has created trouble for me, and many many many other users! I suggest you try another power source to be sure.

For GPIO0 and RST, look at the schematics on the URL in my message. Leaving them "floating" sometimes work, sometimes not.
