ESP-07 bought from ebay red power led works great so far and came with AT version:0.21.0.0 SDK version:0.9.5 .
I can post the seller if anyone is interested.

- Is it only the blue power light ones that have had this problem?
- Were you able to see bootloader output, or nothing at all?

(Mine is red power light and I can see bootloader output. But nothing otherwise)

HAHA, ok nevermind - had my RX/TX labels backwards on the silkskreen (of my board)
