#7711 Yes, looks like a good project, thanks for the heads up.

There is only one other Kickstarter I found using the ESP - https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/902741881/8266wing-wifi-shield?ref=nav_search

It also looks good for those who want a cheap wifi shield for arduino projects.

We're going to do a kickstarter, hopefully in April/May, so I'm super interested in seeing how these ones go.

I bet we'll see quite a few more over the next few weeks too!

kr175 NOK = $23 USD... and that's not including conversion fee. And...
Headers and screw terminals are included but not soldered.
Dude, you're a rich man...

#7756 Ah, oops, sorry! I am guilty of repeating their claim for it, and knowing that the ESP is a cheap chip, not checking

I suppose, perhaps, to give them (and me) the benefit of the doubt, I now realise they are based in a very expensive country, perhaps the most expensive country in the world!!

Still, it is open hardware so nothing stopping people getting a bunch made locally to reduce costs - or someone in shenzen making a bunch for next to nothing. And as the kickstarter is funded, they will make it and importantly, the software, of which shenzen is not the world master it is in electronics :)

I think it is a sweet little project, modest but looks good, and at the end we all get some code and hardware designs to see and get ideas from. And maybe it will get cloned and soon we'll see them on aliexpress etc for just a few $.

So we all win! :D
