Hi,
I have 100 pcs powered @5V controlled by esp8266.
No buffer, no series resistor but short connection.
Everything working o.k. for over 1 year ...
If the first led gets a workable signal, the rest will follow as the signal is re-timed and re-shaped at the output of the first led.
