Hello everyone,

Is anyone able to clarify how does the smart plug work ? In other terms, what is the technique used in such devices so we can control them anytime and from any place in the world through the internet instantly, there is no delay at all, not even a second delay. Moreover, no port forwarding is required during the installation, just give it the ssid and password.

Phone (or any other client in the world) == > central server < == smart plug

Both phone as smart plug query a central server (sometimes in countries with questionable intents).
Just like with services like TeamViewer and LogMeIn, but then using a telemetry protocol (like MQTT)
