We do not do this for a specific client.
I have a telemetry solution company.
Some customers are looking to monitor biological freezers that reach -180C. For this temperature range I had never worked and forced us to research on the pt100 and thermocouple.
Until that happens, I had never worked with these 2. In the company we mostly use the DS18B20 sensor which has a good range for most of our applications and has a very good price!

Rudy has shown a solution to each of these and it seems that I will go this way, I will do more research.

Thanks for the explanation. Being a relatively specialised requirement (such a low temperature) I agree that it seems like more research is needed, especially given the cost of special gear - sometimes you can think 'outside the box' and use components outside of what their normal application would be (example; I worked on avionics system which neeeded to measure air pressure from aircraft pitot tube, very precisely, so we used an ADC that are designed for hearts [pacemakers]).
