EDIT: I was under the impression the ESP8266 only has a SD slave implemenation, so it can emulate an SD card (I guess with dynamic virtual values instead of real memory) but not control an actual SD card itself.

But I may be wrong of course.

Or are you using the SPI access feature of most SD cards? It seems it has a few quirks though.

#88662 I must say the ESP8266 is very interesting, it's really packed with interesting features. But the documentation is so very bad/lacking, that it often makes me want to give up. Often it's information Espressif could easily share (not sensitive in respect to business IP or WLAN regulations) but they simply refuse to do so. Also it must be very little efford to share those informations. Something like where the stack area is and how large it is, for instance.
