console is flooded with garbage

The so called garbage is most likely error messages from the boot loader.
To view these messages set your terminal baud rate to 74880.

- Tue Jan 11, 2022 6:29 pm #93328 The terminal program I use, picocom, doesn't support this baud rate. Never mind, now I get a "screen full" of garbage then the "ready" prompt. It's what I was looking for and got it thanks to JurajA's reply.
