No you don't *need* 100 µF. And the problem here is obviously the attempt to power the ESP from a voltage divider (which will not work).

In most cases, providing the power supply is sufficiently powerful, you will do fine with a small decoupling capa.

Anyway, it's not really readable what Capa values Arpit Agrawal has used, as he has indicated "muF".
The usual notation is either uF (shorthand for µF = micro Farads) or nF (nano Farads).

I get the problem with the voltage divider... It is not providing enough current to my ESP.

I just bought a voltage regulator to step down my DC.
