#19411 I am following a tutorial on youtube where the guy has ground to external power supply GPIO 0 to ground RX to TX TX to RX and power to external power supply. I followed that and other then the ESP8266 coming on I am getting no feed back when I type AT in the serial monitor box. I must also say that I have downloaded and added the arduino SDK to my Arduino IDE.

YouTube link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-aZU8YqHlHw

ESP8266 sdk link: https://github.com/esp8266/Arduino

There is a lot of confusing info about this module not sure what I am doing.

#19416 I started about here midway on the page to get the wiring right first.

wiki/doku.php?id=getting-started-with-the-esp8266

Then folowing down the AT commands are tried . If you can get it all going to there its a good grounding .

Then you need an FTDI cable or other means of getting your programs from the Arduino sketch to the board
