I have seen this behaviour when the preferences.txt entry for target_package/platform had a non existing architecture ... try renaming your preferences.txt and see if it starts then.

Remove from Users/#####//AppData/Local/Arduino15/package_index.json then restart

I just made a new account on this forum to post that I am having the same issue. I reinstalled Arduino IDE through windows store as well as installer and zip packages. It definitely seems like a software issue. Is anyone having this issue on linux?
