What do you means by not working ?
millis() function is working since almost 3 years ...

Why don't you try to write a simple program that only does timing. Have it print the time to the serial port. Get this working and then include that code into your program. Troubleshooting is simplifying. Start by learning on something simple.

And millis does work.

@msuphi: maybe you should have a look at the ticker library if millis() doesn't work for you
