#75281 Hi,

I'm building a POV and i noticed that my ESP8266 got damaged by the rotation forces.
I'm curious if some one else had that kind of experiences ...

i have them form Banggoods:
https://www.banggood.com/10Pcs-ESP8266- ... rehouse=CN

I have replaced them twice and before I start the rotation the bandwidth is around 3Mbits (I'm sending frames over WiFi to my POV) after some seconds of rotation the bandwidth is down to around 0.6 to 1Mbits
This still remains after stopping the rotation and re-powering ... Its permanently damaged!

Now I'm using this module:
https://www.banggood.com/ESP8266-ESP-12 ... roducts__4

It looks like it has no problem with the rotation.

Have anyone any ideas how this is possible?

greetings
Patrick

#75341 I'm guessing that's a damage in radio circuitry. Passive components, which you fave a few under the shield, can probably get detached due to the stress, or it can be due to operating the radio in relatively strong EM field. A motor is essentially a bunch of electromagnets, after all.
I think the former is more likely though, and if that's the case, placing the module as close to the rotation axis as possible (where the forces are smallest) might just do the trick.
Post some pics. Maybe we can figure something out.
