Yes, you need to solder a button or a wire between GPIO0 and gnd.
When you insert the programmer and module to usb port, keep the button pressed, when its in port, release the button. Do not make a "solid bridge" between the buttons, as then the GPIO0 will be always low.
ESP-01 will be in programming mode then.
