Title says it. Using a sparkfun FTDI adapter to a raw (no dev environment like NodeMCU) ESP12-E. In the arduino IDE, or Termite, everything works. But Putty and the VS-code serial monitors lock up the device (shorting RST to GND does not reset it). Running the most recent driver version for the FTDI etc. Uploading from VScode works as well.
