#83522 While you are asking in a ESP8266 forum and this is an ESP32-based board, I'm pretty sure, it can be done with this board. I did some experiments with an ESP32-CAM board and it does what one would expect. However, power supply is an issue: it requires more than 100mA when recording and WiFi on. So, battery power is not an option for longer operation.

#83524 You are asking in a LUA forum (for the ESP8266). I have not come across any LUA firmware for the ESP32-Cam.

One thing to be aware of with the ESP32-CAM. It is very sensitive to flare. If there is a bright light withing the view of the lens, or a lot of light from the side hitting the lens, then the image will get washed out. If these are the conditions it needs to operate under then I would highly recommend a flat black shield/hood to keep the undesirable light from hitting the lens.
