#89300 Wow, yes, that's been quite a while ago, and much has changed (for the better) since then. That post was actually prior to much support in using the Arduino IDE, and several different groups were comming at the 8266 from different directions. While that did give options, it also added to confusion for those just starting up. I may be wrong but I believe most who program the ESP8266 use the Arduino IDE to do so. That being said PlatformIO is comming on strong now as well. I should also point out that I am not familiar with NONOS binary files, so we seem to be working on different planes. What I'm currently doing is writing Arduino sketches, uploading them, and using the ESP8266 as a microcontroler with WiFi capabilities. Once a sketch is uploaded the AT commands are gone (overwritten).
