#90746 Hi,
I built a simple ESP8266, RTC (DS3231) shift register to display time on a LED display.
It is fairly accurate, but as all free standing clocks do, it drifts in time.
I am looking for an Android App to set the time on the clock when needed.
I'm sure NTP can be used to update the time, but the clock is mounted far away from a Wi-Fi router.
I also know the smart phone can be used to update the time via NTP.
Problem is, only the phone or WiFi router ssid / password ect, that is programmed into the ESP can be used to set the time on the clock.
I would like to have any phone close to the clock set the current time.
Please assist...

Regards
MM

You could use a Wi-Fi Powerline Extender to create a wifi access point near the ESP. It would also improve your wifi connectivity at that location.
