ESP07 programs OK as 1M module.

will take the can off one of them to physically check the flash memory.

Flash chip is a 25Q80 from Bergmicro . It is a 07 AI-THINKER.

Are there any known issues or limitations in running V3 ESP Basic in 1M of flash ?

None that I am aware of. Have it running on several 1MB devices currently not to say that you will not find bugs but for what I do it does the trick. I am not entirely sure if OTA will work on a 1mb flash it may because the bin is less then half of the size but if it does count on it not working in the future. You can rework a new flash memory chip on there though if you wish to have larger capacity but for now it should be perfectly fine to be honest for most applications.

Thanks Forlotto.

I am only looking at using this as small sensor and control nodes in a network, so will not run a lot of code.
I do have 4M flash chips, its not too difficult to pop the metal can off and replace the flash.
