- Fri Dec 30, 2016 7:05 pm #60176 The ones I have use CP2102 chips. As far as I know this is considered a decent choice and it seems to work fine for everything else.

I may opt to buy a pre-flashed unit down the road too, but I need to stick with a software platform that is more portable among ESP8266-based devices than this is beginning to seem to be.

I don't rule out my own incompetence in this matter though.
