#80711 From what you posted, it looks like you are using Basic on an ESP8266. That is an important point. Unfortunately I am not familiar with the Basic implementation.

If you were using the Arduino environment I would suggest doing a full erase of the flash chip. That has helped me when I have had a similar situation.
